Hi - from Birmingham where Brian is wowing them in 'Dick Whittington' at The Hippodrome Theatre. If you have not seen this fabulous production yet - there's still time. As Britain's longest running pantomime we don't finish until 24th February.
It has been a very successful show, with Brian receiving rave notices for his performance. He has also managed to become the leading scorer in the afer-show tenpin bowling league - though a few of us are trying to knock him off the top spot! At the moment he's the only man who's working constantly and yet keeps on having strikes!
Before panto rehearsals started, back in December of 2001, Brian was extremely busy recording all the voices for a brand new cartoon series called 'Busy Buses' - which we cover elsewhere on the site. Also he recorded 'An Audience With' which will be on your screens sometime soon - probably March or April. This is quite a bit different to the other shows of this there have been. Watch out for the trick with Christine Hamilton and an extremely funny 'Dangerous Brian' with Lesley Joseph. I'll let you know as soon as we have a transmission date.
Another series of 'The Brian Conley Show' is currently being planned and goes into production around May. This will again be the chat show format with a new set and some very special guests.
In the Autumn - work begins on a new game show. I cannot give you any news on this yet but it's a brand new idea and Brian is very excited about it.
Right now though he is excited about something else Anne-Marie is expecting their second child soon. We are all looking forward to the happy event and I'm sure there will be plenty of 'wetting the baby's head' amongst the Dick Whittington Company when the new addition to the Conley family arrives.
On the 7th February Brian is starring in a very special midnight matinee here at the Hippodrome in aid of the Water Rats Charities Fund. After two houses of the Pantomime we are staging a variety show - begining at 11pm until1am. Also joining Brian will be Sir Norman Wisdom, Kenny Baker, Gordon Giltrap, Roger DeCourcey, Anna Brecon, Don Maclean, The Simmons Brothers, The Kilamanjaros and Luke Baxter and the Pantomime Dancers. We are still waiting to hear if Frank Bruno can get over from his Panto in Wolverhampton. It will be a fantastic night- so if you can make it to Birmingham - get along as fast as you can The Box Office Number for both 'Dick Whittington' and'The Water Rats Charity Gala' is 0870 730 1234.
