Hello there and welcome to BC News 2. Hope you all had a good start to the year and that everything has gone well for you. It certainly has for Brian.
First off though - I have to tell you that plans for the new album (see BC News 1) have had to be shelved until later in the year. This was purely due to Brian's workload. With the new television series looming it was just not possible to get recording under way in time. I will let you know when it is up and running again asap.
Brian did manage to get a short break in. Luckily, it wasn't his leg! He went skiing and loved every minute of it. Whether we will ever see him competing in the Winter Olympics remains to be seen. Apparently he had a few hairy moments but came back unscathed. Eddie the Eagle Edwards watch out!
And so it was home to start work on the new series.
We had the first script meeting at Pearson Television for the Brian Conley Show. It was good to see many of the gang from last year and to meet up with some new faces. The Producer is the lovely Claire Horton and I can already tell you that it is going to be another great series. I'd spoken to Brian on the phone a few times but hadn't seen him since his skiing sojourn. I wondered if he would play the same gag on us that he did when we were working on the BBC Lottery Show a couple of years ago. At one rehearsal then, he entered with arm and leg in plaster. We all looked aghast thinking the worst - only to find that he'd borrowed them from 'props'.
The new series has already got some brilliant guests lined up and will have a great 'feel good' factor about it. First show of the new series is aired on Friday March 30th 2001 at 8.00pm.
No more news on the films or release dates yet - but if I hear anything I'll pass it on.
